View Full Version : Improving Image Quality

Hi All,
I'm trying out Sony Vegas 8.0 editing software, so far it looks pretty well laid out and easy to use. At least after the first learning curve or two but that the same with all software, for me anyways.

What I like to know is if the software has the ability to clean up videos? Things like sharpening, noise reduction (I may be using the wrong terms, I,m use to doing stills only) or anything that will reduce out of place pixels. l,m using a Panasonic SDR-S7 camera that records to a SDHC card, cute little camera and does a good job but could use a little software help.

Thanks,
Craig

Yes, it has some basic "cleanup" tools. But don't expect a lot because you can never add information to a video.

It does have excellent brightness and color correction tools though, which are more useful.

I've never used it but I've read that Neat Video (http://www.neatvideo.com/index.html?snim) is a good noise reduction plug in for Vegas (and other) NLEs.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information, this video editing has a large learning curve. Just hope I get the hang of it soon.

Thanks again,
Craig
