View Full Version : Any way to change Pixel Aspect Ratio on multiple videos at one?
dixit
So I have about 40-50 of these MicroMV videos (which are just MPEG2), they were captured back in the day using Sony's capture program.
When Vegas puts them on the storyboard, it seems to think its PAR is .9091, but it should be the 1.2121. Now the problem is if I drop all say 50 clips on the storyboard, I have to basically right click one one of them to change the PAR to 1.2121, this is somewhat of a pain, is there any other way to change all of them at once? I tried to select all the files on the storyboard but no go.
I remember back when I used PremierePro it would let me do this.

Hi
I don't know whether there is a way for this in Vegas but if your files are in mpeg2 format then you could try my tool sdcopy:

I wrote it mainly for my Panasonic camcorder that doesn't set the 16:9 flag although the recording was made in 16:9.
Beside patching the widescreen flag sdcopy can copy/rename all your files with their filedate and time and put them into a single destination folder. Or, if you don't want that it can just simply patch your original files and modify the flag for the aspect ratio.
I have never tried it with microMV files therefore please make backup copies before you try it out.

Set your Project Properties (File - Properties) to NTSC DV Widescreen (720x480, 29.970 fps).
Open the Pan/Crop window on the first clip, right-click and select Match Output Aspect.
Exit Pan/Crop.
Right-click this clip and select Copy.
Click on the next clip to select it.
Right-click and select Select Events to End.
Right-click and select Paste Event Attributes.
All done :-)
