View Full Version : Dynamic RAM preview limit

bacool
I`m running under Win xp Sp2 32 bits in a laptop
Dell Workstation Precision 6300
core duo 2.4 / 4Go Ram
Win reconized 3.5 Go of this RAM, I know this is normal
But Vegas Pro just allowes 1Go for the Dynamic Ram Preview
How much you get normally with the same OS?
There is a way to increase it ?
I saw that changing the boot.ini file works fine for After Effects

Someone knows if is it possible to do the same for Vegas Pro?
Thanks

In Vegas 7 & earlier, you could tell Vegas how much RAM to assign but, with the introduction of Vegas Pro 8, the software now decides how much RAM you can have for the Dynamic Ram Preview feature.
There's no way to adjust this that I'm aware of.

Thanks for the information Mike
Now, in your opinion, it is normal to have just 1go for the DRP?
I would like to know if you (or someone else) get more.

I've got 2 gigs of RAM on a quad core and the most it'll let me go up to is 1 gig.
WIth Vegas 6 & 7, I could bump it up to 1.5 gigs but not in Vegas Pro 8.
