View Full Version : On-tripod remote control ??

Does anyone know if an on tripod remote like the Manfrotto 521 or 523 series work with the XHA1? The Manfrotto site doesn't list the XHA1 and I just got my first decent tripod and head so I was also looking at remote controls.

Yeah, the Manfrotto website leaves a lot to be desired, doesn't it? It's nearly impossible to get any real info from it. B&H has more and better info, generally. (Edit: Except in this case, where they seem to have just cut-and-pasted from the Manfrotto site.)
But they should work just fine on the A1, as the H1 is listed and I'm guessing the LANC protocol is the same.
But see my answer, below. Even though it's a different question, the answer is the same:

There are also two other brands which I have used:
LIBEC and VARIZOOM. I like the VARIZOOM because I can override the auto-focus which is a neat feature in the CANON HDV series......critical for focusing in HDV.
This is not an endorsement for the above products but just a user opinion.

Thank you both for the replies.
Lou, which models do you or have you used with the XHA1?
