View Full Version : Rendering in Mpeg2 cause wobble/jumping in picture
micks_address
Hi folks,
I am using Sony Vegas 7 and when i render video in mpeg2 i get a slight wobble or jumping in certain frames when i playback on my ps3 or pc.. i am rendering as PAL widescreen... when i playback the captured footage (avi file from Canon Elura 100 european version) the jumping is not there so it must be an issue with the rendering..
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Mick

First, are you using the latest update to Vegas 7, which is 7.0e? If not, install it and try again. No use in chasing old bugs if there are any involved here.
Please provide some info on what settings you are using to render to MPEG-2. Also, you said your Elura 100 was a European version but just to make sure we all are on the same page, you have video in PAL format, correct? Also, if you have access to some web space, maybe you could upload a critical section of the source file and some of us could try to render it to see what we get.
Good luck.

Hi yes its a pal camera...
i have installed 7.0e and will try re encoding tonight.. is there an easy way to chop a bit from a movie once rendered as i'd like to just upload the offending clip..
thanks for your help

Sure. Just import the rendered video (we're talking MPEG-2 here, right? You can't do this with every video format) back into Vegas and cut out what you don't want and render again. If that's all you do Vegas will do a smart render and basically just copy the frames you want to a new .mpg file. You can also just select the stuff you want on the timeline and render only the selection, no cutting required.
Good luck.
