View Full Version : 9 Platinum Pro: A Step Up?

Jody
Hello all. I have been editing with Vegas 6 Pro for a couple of years. I shoot videotaped oral histories and produce them for DVD and for museum exhibits. I am now shooting on a Vixia HV30.

I'm unable to pay for Vegas 8 Pro, but I could purchase 9 Platinum Pro. My question is whether that would be an upgrade that would give me more options or whether I would be better advised to just stick with 6--or is there a way to use both? One thing that we do need to do on many of our videos is to caption them, and I believe I read about improvements in that area for 9.

As you can tell by this and my other posts, video work is not my expertise. I am an interviewer and oral historian who has only recently waded into video. I appreciate all the help you all have given in that process.

As a Vegas Pro user, I'd never "step down" to Platinum.
I like having features like unlimited audio & video tracks, full colour correction and customizable render options.
I also like having tools like scripting.
Platinum has none of these which is why I stick with Pro.

This Upgrade to Vegas Pro 8 Video Editing Software for Windows from Sony allows owners of a previous professional version of Vegas to upgrade to v8 of the software at a reduced cost when compared to purchasing the full version of the software.

$99.00

I don't know if this applies to yoour Version 6.
