Although I've already gotten it fixed by Canon- i was wondering if my HV20 defect has been seen before, or if anyone knows what happened.
I have an 18 month old HV20, barely used, maybe 2 minitapes. Also, very lightly used - nothing rugged, just around the house. One day, I turned it on and the viewfinder was entirely red. I could make out images but the screen was totally red. I recorded to see if it was just a screen issue, but it recorded the same - red. Well, Canon service was not helpful - try a reset and if that doesn't work send it in for repair.
Well about $160 later - its fixed. But they never said what was wrong with it. I just got the bill.
I am disappointed in Canon. This product should not have just stopped working.
Any similiar experiences outthere? Any suggestions about what I should/shouldn't do with this camera?
Thanks
