View Full Version : Editing software question

rocksolid123
I have a SDR-H200 and run windows Vista. I am going to invest a few bucks to find an editing program that is better then movie maker or the one I got from Pasasonic. Right now I have to import the movie, change the extention of the file, import it to movie maker, make the edits, save and import the file, change the extention back from a JPEG and burn it so I can watch it on my DVD player. I just want software where I can import, edit, and burn. Does that exsist? Looking to spend under 100 bucks.

Hi
I have a SDR-S100 which records to MOD files like your H200.
I use my own tool sdcopy to convert/rename from MOD to MPG.
Then I use Magix Video Deluxe 15( Magix Movie Edit Pro in the US) to edit my videos. I find that Magix handles the mpeg2 files very well and I had bad experiences with other packages(like adobe premiere or sony vegas). Although magix can direcly load the MOD files I use sdcopy first to rename the files.
And although Magix includes a DVD authoring component I use either TMPGEnc DVD Author V1.5 or DVDLab Pro to author a DVD. I never authored a DVD with magix.
