I found this interesting, amazing how different reviews can be.

"We found the menus to be confusing and the lack of a clearly labeled "Easy" mode to be disorienting for first-time users."

"the menu is drop-dead simple to operate."

i4u.digitaltrends.com also found the low-light to be not so bad.

What to do....what to do.

There may be some minute differences in what these two describe. What digitaltrends says is likely true (judging by my HF100); menu system is simple and easy to operate: joystick is used to navigate the options (up and down), and going in and out of each option, you move right and left. Occasionally, to confirm a selection, you press the joystick -- simple and easy enough.

However, what camcorderinfo says is most likely also true (again, judging by my HF100); finding features around the labyrinthine menu structure can be quite a chore. I spent five minutes searching for the night mode, or for the shutter priority mode, or for microphone windscreen setting. The menu system is easy to navigate, but features and options are organised in a most unintuitive way with not much logic to it. So both statements can technically be correct, as contradictory as they seem to sound initially.
