Canon HFS100 or HF200

I am looking to buy a new camcorder and have narrowed it down to Canon. I like the HFS100 but I am wondering whether the HF200 will suit my needs. The HF200 is about $500 less than the HFS100 so if it will suit my needs then I'm happy. I intend to use the camera to record family events (mainly videos of the kids) and vacations. Everything I have read says you should get a camera with the biggest sensor possible which would mean the HFS100 but I'm wondering whether I am really going to notice a huge difference between these two cameras based on the sensor size. Another other advice to assist in my decision would be greatly appreciated!
