View Full Version : Saving a screen shot or frozen frame as a picture HELP

Okay, so on Sony Vegas 9 I go to "Save Snapshot as File" (floppy disk icon above the screen display) and it takes a picture but its really small. How Do I make it larger? I don't suppose anyone would know how to do this with Windows Movie Maker as well? You can get some of the best pictures from camcorder footage... and I'd like to get big clear pics out of my footage.

You resize the way you would anything else, in Photoshop or the very good free app Irfanview.

I know it wouldn't be as good of quality as with an actual digital camera. But with a camera its just SNAP and thats it. With a video you kinda have like a kajillion pictures there to choose from. Screen shots can make for the coolest pics (even though the picture resolution isn't top notch) I mean just look at all the cool screen shots that come from actual movies that are put on the back of movie boxes, posters, magazines etc...
On my old computer when I'd freeze frame the pictures would come out bigger. Guess I'll have to try that free Irfanview thing.

Make sure you set your Preview window to Best/Full before you take the snapshot as this will give you the best quality possible.
Going into Properties and changing it from interlaced to progressive may help a wee bit too.
Remember to change everything back to normal afterward.
