If by "HD" you mean "High...
If by "HD" you mean "High Definition" - you won't be able to Capture or Edit HD video using the "plain" version of Pinnacle Studio.
You'll need Pinnacle Studio Plus Titanium Edition version 10.5 or...

Just my 2 cents worth.
I have never been in a situation where I had too much processor speed, too much ram. or too much hard drive space.
I have used premier 1.5 pro with 1gb and 2gb of ram.
2gb seems better....

This may be a problem with your firewire...
