Hmmm, let's see. I have a brand new Panasonic PV-GS14 and a brand new JVC GRD33 miniDV camcorder. And neither of them get the low light results of my piece of crap old Sharp Viewcam analog camcorder...

I have a Panasonic PV-GS14, does that have analog passthru? I wan't to be able to convert old 8mm tapes to digital without getting a capture card.

I just bought a used Dazzle DVC 120. Like most analog capture devices, this DVC 120 doesn't use a power cord. It (apparently) just plugs into your computer via firewire and into the camcorder or VCR...
