In your case I think a dvd camcorder is the best option. You could always copy the mini-dvds onto a larger dvd-rw or hard drive for keepsake, since you're mailing the original disc. there shouldn't...

I read somewhere that a PAL camcorder in the US is usless and a big NO-NO. Better be sure of what you're getting yourself into before you buy a PAL model.
