Very bad video quality of sony dvd 403

I've just buyed the dvd camcorder 403 and take some little video.
The video quality is really bad.
I see that the bitrate is variable from 4.00 to 5.00 mega.
There's some setup i can do to improve...

Anybody has just tried it ?
Only 2 limitations: 5.1 channel audio downmixed to stereo audio. VR Mode not supported.

Anyone try Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 with the native file of sony 403...
