When the raindrop appears it stops everything from operating.
Any clues on a proper cure please?

Do you get the error message of C:31:22 or something similar? Because I did with my Sony TRV, and I googled the problem... I came across another Camera forum and strangeley, it said to 'disconnect the power source to your camera (Battery and AC/DC) and the tape, then pick up your camera and bang it on your knee firmly a few times'... Now, I thought this was crazy.... But my camera is nearly 3 years old and I wasn't gonna fork out some more money to get it fixed... So I thought I'd try it and would you believe it, my camera works fine now! The picture quality has gone right up aswell, there's no more static on the screen. Now, attempt this at your own risk, but it honestly worked wonders for me.
Good Luck!
