Samsung SCD23/27 CCD
First I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their inputs, they have helped me out alot. Back in Dec 04 my wife purchased a SCD23 from Best Buy. After using it 3 times the screen went black. After another trip and 2 cameras later they gave us the SCD 27 as a replacement. Now this one is doing the same thing as the other two. I contacted SAMSUNG as many of us have and the typical reply was the SCD 23 was the only unit recalled and not the SCD 27. After I talked with some one at Executive Customer Relations and explained the situation, he tried to work it out for me. He told me he would call me back and to my surprise he did. He told me that he could replace my unit with the SCD 263, of course I told him no... After this I asked him to put me in touch with someone about the whole CCD situation and if the same one was used in the SCD 23. From reading these forums it seems like they were used in most cameras from 2002-2004. The individual at the tech support told me that he had no idea and that he would have to get in touch with someone from product engineering. Now I sit here and wait for an answer. 1 deployment later missing my kids grow up because of a new camcorder that doesnt work sucks... Has anyone heard of a law suit for all of the Samsung cameras/ camcorders that use the same CCD for this time frame or is it just for the SCD 23?
