PLEASE READ COMPLETELY!!

Hello Salumpe, your story is more proof that Samsux has known about the extremely high chip failure rate in these cams for years! And the fellow in ECR told a lie to you( only because that is what he has been told)!! There is NO OFFICIAL RECALL AT ALL! When he said that to you it was a diversionary tactic being used by SAMSUX! They have never publicly or even privately(by notifying registered customers) announced any kind of a recall! It is only been by word of mouth thru this website that any of us have known about the problem! And for that we must all thank poster ANOMALY for getting the ball rolling and threatening to SUE SAMSUX!
I do have some good news for you Salumpe! Some ammuniton for you to go to SAMSUX with! I have been doing some research about the claim by Samsung that only the scd23 is affected! Then I want them to explain why all replacement ccd chips offered by the parts houses are exactly the same part number for mutiple cams! Please click this link: SCD23 CCD to see what I am talking about! As you will see Part # AD97-06418A is used in multiple cams ! I have also found out that SAMSUNG is the manufacturer of those ccd's! Samsux is also telling people in the UK that their cams are not affected but the only difference is their cams are PAL and not NTSC format! The CCD"S were still 680k ccd's made by SAMSUX!! ! Sony has admitted publicly that their cams produced between 2002-2004 had these same bad ccd's in them and have publicly recalled all cams for repair or replacement! Most likely they replaced all cams because all the repair parts are bad also! It is very had to prove that a part is the same in multiple models because even if it is the same part they(electronics industry) will sometimes label it with a different part number just so only they know it was used in another type of cam! Here is an example; The USA version, SC-D23 uses part # AD97-06418A ( complete circuit board w ccd mounted ) but the UK version VP-D230 uses # AD97-06417A , just 1 digit diff! But they both use the exact same ccd itself, part # 0605-001073 !! One more example just so you can see how they are evading the issue; Some people who own the SC-D107 are complaining of the same problem but SAMSUX is telling them that it is not affected! Wait just a minute there SAMY boy... While the ccd assembly is part # AD97-08366A, the actual ccd itself is again part # 0605-001073 !!! The exact same ccd as used in the SCD23, VPD230, and looks like the same as the SCD107!! Very clever but the jig is up SAMSUX!! Just because we stupidly bought your cams does not mean we are stupid! What it all boils down to is SAMSUX is very CORRUPT! And will lie like hell to keep from getting any more bad publicity than they have already gotten this year: (SEE POST)

SALUMPE if I were you I would go directly to any electronics store with a liberal return policy(make sure first and get it in writing) and buy a SAMSUNG miniDv cam so you will not be without one till SAMSUX replaces yours! Use a credit card if you have one so you can always gert your $$ back! Hold on to the receipt and be sure to return it before the time limit specified for returns in the store policy! Make sure when you return it that you tell them that the screen goes black intermittantly when trying to record( sound familiar?)! That way SAMSUX will have to take it back and credit the store and it will be evaluated for repair or replacement! HA! HA! In other words it will cost them and if enough of you do it till you get your cams replaced, I think SAMSUX will get the message! Don't miss your kids lives! If I had known it was going to take 2 1\2 months to get SAMSUX to make good on my cam I would have done it! I did not think of it untill last week when I was so mad at them I could not see straight because they were telling me they were out of stock on the SC-D365 till after Thanksgiving! That is when i demanded an SCD963 ! I had already checked stock and knew they had them so they couldn't scam me once more ! I demanded they send it 2nd day air or I was going to call the FBI as soon as I got off the phone! After reminding them of the aforementioned scandals SAMSUX had been involved in already this year I said the FBI would be more than ready to investigate SAMSUNG again! They agreed! I have the cam now. It is nowhere near as nice as my SCD23 but it does work! As soon as the new models come out in January I will be returning it for a better model! You can bet on it! I WILL NEVER KNOWINGLY BUY ANOTHER SAMUX PRODUCT EVER AGAIN!

I know my posts are long and boring but I have spent much time researching this so I can help all of you! I am so sick of this kind of thinggoing on with many Companies and Governments! I am tired of sitting back and just letting them get away with it! I hope you all will realize that this kind of stuff is pervading our lives ! If it were not for the free exchange of info on the internet we would be helpless against these A$$Holes! BUT,, don't believe everything read on the net! That causes just as much harm as the scammers! And one of the reasons we are all so divided politically! People often believe what coincides with their preconceived notions and that is what most advertising whether done by Companies or Politicians is designed to prey on! Always do your own research to verify any claim and then make up your own mind! Sometimes the truth hurts but once you find it then its your own fault if you don't do something about it!!
