Status: Samsung will fix at my cost of $150. Even after prooving to them the vast extent of the problem with this CCD, they refuse to recall or replace this camcorder. Also refusing to answer my emails. Filed and received confirmation of complaint with BBB of NJ.

UPDATE: Received letter from BBB stating they had not received any corrispondance with Samsung reguarding this issue and considered it closed.
UPDATE: Filed formal complaint with Nebraska State Attorney Generals office. Keep sending complaints to Samsung and they refuse to even reply to me now.
UPDATE: Samsung has not responded to State Attorney General either. Looks like this class action suit is our only hope since this joke of a company is refusing to stand behind the incredible junk they sell. That is being polite!
