I put down some information about Canon and Panasonic cameras that I collected. I was interested in how exactly these cameras record progressive video using interlaced recording standard. I wanted to find out more about so-called "pulldown flags" and why video from the Canon HV20/HV30 camcorders does not have them (in short: because interlaced video does not contain pulldown flags, progressive video does).

Oh, I do know that Canon XH uses interlaced CCDs, while the HV uses a progressive CMOS sensor. This is not relevant to the way video is recorded.
