What is quality for footage shot in SD or HD on this camera once you convert it to DVD?

Does it take like hours to convert to dvd format. One thing I liked about my SD mpeg2 HDD recorder was that if I convert it to dvd with "no"reprocessing", it was very fast to make into DVD.


However, when I chose a setting that recompresses it, not only did it take longer but quality suffered tremendously.
