DVD cams do not record a continuous timecode like DV cams do. The timecode recorded for each MPEG2 clip starts at it's own virtual 0:00 so you don't get a "real time" continuous record.
The only way they will do this is if you select the cam to record the date and time on the picture itself however this may not be what you want.
