953 to convert Analog to Digital
Has anyone used or know if the 953 can convert analog to digital? IE buy plugging an analog in (VCR or analog camcorder) and firewire out to a PC.??
I am considering buying the 953 but still need to know a few things!

A->D and D->A conversion
As earlier reply stated, yes you can.
Right now, I'm dumping the output of my Final Cut Pro project, via Firewire, to the 953 and then out the analog outputs of the 953 to my VCRs.
If you're thinking of other cameras, check out my thead where I compared the 953 against the Canon Optura Xi ( 14 hours test in my home). That should help.
I did notice a blue (.5 second) flash on my monitor about 30 minutes into my "dub" from the Mac. I'm trying to track that down, but I think that was some fluke, or my Mac perhaps...
(has anyone here had any dub problems like this, once the dub was underway?)
Terry
PS: digging the 953
