Kerr, Here is an online manual site with the TRV6E/TRV11E/TRV20E manual. The specs show firewire out only for the TRV6E and TRV11E but firewire input and output for the TRV20E. The manual shows pass through/convert for the TRV20E

[[[EDIT !! Sorry link to sony-europe is dead. Does anyone know where to find the "E" manuals??? ]]
I didn't see one for the other models like TRV22E.
The site below will let you look for manuals after choosing a product category. I don't know if you have this on your sticky thread.

The Sony main global site will also take you to other areas of the world.

Thanks Andrey.
Here's the text from a recent post by micj. I hope these links are good.

The letter E indicates European and means PAL units. Some European units may also have slightly different specifications and may have the record input disabled. Read the manuals for details. Most of the manuals can be found at;
US models - Enter name of unit like DCRHC20
http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/sosdocs...src=sonysupport
European models - Choose Personal Video under Main Category, then Camcorder type, then model

Regards,
Ira

True,
the TRV-19E ( PAL ) has Analog IN recording disabled and for 732$ ( including tax ) which I had to pay for this camera I think is a little unacceptable... this is why I need an Service manual ...
regards
L.

Note that ALL the TRV-19s (whether PAL or NTSC) have no analogue inputs. There is no magic LANC trick to give it analogue inputs.... the camcorder is designed without them and it is a real limitation, not artificial.
The TRV-22 DOES have analogue inputs, and the PAL model 22E does NOT disable them like some other EU models have inputs but they are disabled artificially to lower tariffs.

If I will have the chance to study the service manuals and electric circuits/diagrams I will know more... until then I just speculate.

Yep! Sonydigital links are good. I found my DCR-TRV22E manual there on the 5 languages!
Thank you, Kerr and Ira.
