Question SHARP VL-AH151U problems

I recentley received a Sharp VL-AH151U camcorder. I really love it and it works great but when I try to play back what I have recorded the image is full of lines and cuts in and out. Do I have to clean something? Are the tapes bad? Please help!!!

Hi Lil Brit Girl--I'm a lil Michigan Mama here. I have the same problem with my VL-A110 and I tried to play back my grandson's first Christmas and it did all that you just said. I am FURIOUS! Any ideas out there???
