Angry firewire pin problem

I am new to this forum. I have learned many things from reading the posts. So I thought perhaps you would have a solution for me. I have a Canon GL2 and about a week ago it stopped connecting to the computer. I have downloaded patches and updated drivers and still nothing worked. Then I took a look at the fire wire port on my camera. It looks as though one of the pins is bent to the side. What would be the best way to fix this or replace the whole port. Is this advisable or should I send it to a repair shop? It doesn't seem like it would be that hard of fix. Please help.

If you do decide to try it yourself, be sure to disconnect the power and remove the battery. A tiny jeweler's style screwdriver might be able to bend the pin back. But, it can be tough to get something like that all the way back to its original position so it might bend again.
