To each his own & all that. But IMO, hard drive is very limiting. If you fill up the hard drive, AFAIK, you can't do anything unless & until you clear some space off the hard drive. If the cam uses tapes or SD cards, you essentially have unlimited capacity.

I'm pretty sure all the pocket cams use flash memory. The Flip series doesn't use removable media, so it's similar to using a hard drive in that once you fill it up, you have to delete footage from the cam before recording more. But most (all?) the others use cards. I don't know that much about the more fully featured cams, so I don't know if any of them use flash memory cards & if not, why not. |
