Panasonic AG-DVC30 vs. Sony HDR-HC3
I am assuming you purchased the panasonic. What do you think of the panasonic vs. Sony HDR-HC3? I am going for a good camera with excellent video true color picture for weddings and for my son home movies to be edited on my MacBookPro computer.
Thank you.

Hc1
Hc1 is the better camera compared to the hc3 however it is being discontinued so better hurry in regard to the hc1. I think the dv30 seems to be the best non pro mini dv out there.. meaning cameras like the dvx100 series.
Be aware the HC 1/3 series have terrible autofocus in minimal lighting - unsure why..

You can get this camera cheap!!!
I'm just posting this to clarify something that many people are misunderstanding--the price. As a savvy buyer, I have researched, and you can get this camera online for a MUCH lower price than all of you are thinking.
Go to Best Price Cameras.com (click the link), and you will find one for only $1,139!! Alternatively, you can also purchase packages for more, that include basic accessories like mikes, tripods, and wide angle lenses. So please, dont whine about the price, particularly you, chi_red. All it takes is a quick Google, and you can find great deals.
Oh and one more thing. Just in case the thought crossed your mind, I do not work for Best Price Cameras, and this is not a spam message. I'm simply showing you a great alternative to buying this camera that will surely convince those doubtful to buy it.
Cheers,
Ethanimator
