Hey everyone I'm a newb here.

I recently got Ulead Videostudio 7 and had previously been using Ulead Videostudio 4.0. It worked fine wiht no problems at all. I upgraded to xp from 98 from a reformat and installed this new software (Videostudio 7) because 4.0 is not compatable with xp.

Up until that new software installation I was using my Sony TRV-530 DV camcorder to capture edit and then rerecord back to DV. After installing this software, I can capture, edit, rewind, ff, etc. but I just can't rerecord back to the bloody tape!

On the upload menu in 7 I can control my camcorder fine (to find the spot on the tape I want to begin recording etc) As soon as i click the record button on the menu, it says something to the effect of "check to see if tape is write protected or your camcorder does not support this function"!!!

I tried another round a bout way aswell....
Even when I click the play project button, it renders then I have the option to record onto the camcorder, I click the button and on my LCD screen I see the record symbol with the pause symbol like the computer has initialized the camera. As soon as the vid starts playing it says "copy inhibit" on the camcorder and boom the recording stops!!!!

So where I stand now, I'm out of options, I have no clue whats the problem and wsa wondering if you guys out there would know anything to help me out! I was thinking it may have something to do with the DV type 1 or type 2 thing?
