GY-DV300 Tape Bleed

I am using the Panasonic 83 Min MQ Master Tapes. I used the tape for the second time and in a couple of spots video from the first tape bleed through the second video I was taping. This would not be good if this happened when capturing a first dance or something else that is very important.

Any suggestions as to what can cause this problem.

Also what is the best way to erase a tape so that this does not happen.

Thanks.

Do not record onto a tape twice... easy! Seriously though, a 'pro' camera person recording a first dance wouldn't dream of using an old tape...

Tapes are cheap! ...oh and cleaning your heads might help.

I am buying the most expensive panasonic master tapes ~ $12.00 a piece. Should I buy cheaper tapes and use them once. Most people say these tapes are good for at least 10 uses. I plan to use mine 5 times then chuck them. I clean the heads ~ 12 hours of use.

I use JVC DVM60 ME tapes, and had no problems... they're so cheap when bought in bulk that it's more hassle than it's worth to re-use.

I also like the idea of having the master of everything I've recorded physically on tape rather than lurking on a hard disk somewhere.

Incidentally, when I first bought my camera I tried other leading tape brands, and had problems with them ALL apart from the recommended JVC ones!

Wink Cheap Tapes

I fully agree. We must use tapes once. Because this I bought 300 Jpcs of JVC M-DV63PRO from Singapore, some days ago. The bill each was only 3.2 Us Dollar.
Of course I will share here in Italy with some friends, because they're definitively a lot, even I use tapes once!!!!

Red face Fix Problem Tape on JVC GY-DV300

Apparently there are tapes that are lubricated with certain type of oil and other no. I had the same problem, even with new tapes. I tried with Panasonic, Maxell, etc. There was drops on reccordings and an message appeared alert me to clean the heads. The problem was solved using tapes Sony Premium, that are frequently in the stores.
I hope this help you.
