Capturing GS-400 to VideoStudio driver problem.

I'm using the original driver supplied by panasonic for my GS-400.

Problems:
1. When using MotionDV everything works ok. Capturing, etc, etc...
2. When using Ulead VideoStudio 8:
a. After clicking the capture mode, an error message box comes up and said, "Unable to switch to Capture Mode. Check if your video capture driver is working properly. Canno preview".
b. I can control the video camera (play, stop, but it cannot capture).
c. No preview comes up on capture mode.

My System:
- Windows XP Professional - SP2
- Dell inspiron 8600 Centrino 2.1 Ghz

Many thanks for your help,
Regards,
James

Same problems -no capture mode

I have same problem as what James have, and
get the same message "unable to switch to capture mode " by using the Ulead videostudio 8, also it said that it cannot creat the preview graph.

I tried to use other softwares as the Pinnacle and Nero, still cannot get the video capture but can control the camcorder (play and stop).

I will appreciate if anyone can lead me the way to solve this problem.
I am using the window xp
and PYRO digital video 1394

Thanks

I found a fix for this whilst searching recently! Go to Start -> Run and paste in this:

regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\qdv.dll

Worked for me, hope it works for you

"Cannot Capture" Sony DCR-HC18E & Ulead

Merkin51,

Thanks for the info. I had the same problem, but it applied to many different software packages I tried. Having spent hours trying to uninstall/reinstall, unplug/reconnect and being on the point of returning my new Sony DCR-HC18E, this simple command has made it all work. I owe you a beer! Where did you find this info?

Regards,

Tegen
