Smile Largest size SD Memory card for Opt500
Several times throughout the Optura 500 manual (and the website) they mention times and duration in relation to a 512MB SD Memory Card.

But at no time do they say MAXIMUM usable card.

So has anyone have any idea what the Maximum size card that the Optura 500 can use?

I think a 1Gig card would allow me a good amount of time to record to chip instead of tape.

I totally agree, Canon is unclear on this. I ordered a 2 GB SD card, I'm waiting for it now.
As soon as it comes in I'll try it and let you know.

1GB SD works fine
I ordered a 2GB card, it wasn't in stock and the store couldn't give a delivery time, so i got a 1GB card instead.
This one works fine! Can record over 5 hours of video (MPEG4) according to the timer.
