I'm trying to get into indie film a little more deeply, but I'm having a bit of trouble making up my mind. I want to get the best picture quality I can for what I can afford. I don't mind spending up to a grand on a camera but I just can't seem to find one right for me. I came across the JVC GZ-MC200 recently and I was blown away by the picture quality (in bright light). I'm reading here that its low-light picture is subpar though, and I'm wondering if there's a miniDV alternative that will still look as good. A friend suggested a Canon GL1? Is there any hope or am i just screwed? Thanks.
