Unable to capture audio dubbing

Purchased my GL2 a few weeks ago and I am on a learning curve. I enjoy shooting wildlife video and shot 30-40 minutes of wild turkeys in the 12 bit audio mode. Later I used the on board mic for dubbing the footage.

When I connected the camera to the TV with the A/V cables for playback, the video, audio & dubbing were OK. Then I tried to capture the video & audio to Premiere Elements with firewire. The video & audio on channels 1 & 2 are being captured, but not the dubbing on channels 3 & 4. I tried 2 different firewire cables with same results.

Not sure if channels 3 & 4 (dubbing) actually come thru the firewire or maybe the DV port on my GL2 is bad or is it a software issue. Any help
or advice for this old country boy would be appreciated.

Editing programs won't capture 4 channel sound.

Scenalyzer (scenalyzer.com) is an outstanding and popular dedicated capturing program (with a free trial download probably) that will allow you to capture all four channels, but only two at a time (will require two capture sessions).

You capture card probably has analog audio inputs and you can probably caputure the sound from the cam with the AV cable and create a .WAV file that you can synch up in Premier.

All in all, it's probably better to do the dubbing in the editor.

Thanks for the advice and info. In the future, I will do the dubbing with
the software, rather than the camera.
