Updated Seller of HC1000-Middle of the Road?

If all goes well, plan to purchase HC1000 around July 1.

See that Niceelectronics.com is no longer selling HC1000s according to site.

Profeel offers "lowest price" from "respected store" on epinions.
$1298.95 + 24.95 = $1323.90. (Their rating is good on other sites.)

Does anyone have any ideas for lower priced (from middle of the road) dependable stores?

Thanks!!!!! in advance. All information I've been reading here is EXTREMELY helpful!!!! Appreciate it!!!!

In case you haven't heard....the news...

So...finally...ready to order the HC1000. Resigned that Profeel was probably the best price.

Called...out of stock. They said that Sony said they were sending some more.

Called Vann's. They said they'd e-mail when one became available.

Called camcordersplus.com...said I could special order...if available.

So finally called Sony...after a bunch of transfers to different branches of Sony...got the news...

Sigh....the HC1000 is now an "end of life product." The "model has been deactivated."

So, I ordered from B&H. Wanted others to know the situation...in case they're still considering purchasing one...since this is a place for sharing info. Not a good idea to buy at any site that says they'll be available in one or two weeks. Sony is no longer shipping them out.

Will share any experiences regarding HC1000 that may be helpful.

THANKS!!!!! for the great information here!!! It helped me to reach a decision that feels like the best one for me (and my budget).

Soon...the fun begins.

Don't worry! You'll be happy!

Oh and another thing, if you are outside and it is extremely bright, you can turn off the LCD screen's backlight and see it perfectly!
