audio improvement for optura 20?

I am in a small business producing dvd's - primarily family history. These often include filming the customer as they narrate portions of the show.
I am getting way too much camera noise (especially if the person has a low voice). As soon as I amplify gets really noisy.
I have read some of the site info re: the shotgun attachment as a solution. I understand that that will negate some unwanted audience noise but will it help get rid of my problem with camera noise?
Thanks
Pete

Optura 20? or DC20?

Hi Pete -

Did you purchase the Canon DC20? I do't seem to find an Optura 20.

Can you let me know your experience w/the camcorder? How's the video quality both indoor and outdoor?

thanks!

optura 20

The video quality is great. It is an optura but got a couple of years ago. Only thing I am dissatisfied with is the sound quality. Maybe the newer models are better
