Anyone try out the Camerabright lights?

So I am in the market for some lighting for my shiney new camcorder. I have a GS65 that I want to add a light to for improved indoor performance.

Has anyone tried one of THESE ?

Seems the only drawback is the non rechargeable batteries. I saw somewhere that the batteries last about 4 hours. The button cells are cheap enough to replace.

Anyone know how the performance would compair to the Sunpak RL-20 Readylite 20 Video Light or one of those 3 watt best buy specials?

Is there another cam light I could get for my cold shoe for under a hundred bucks?

It's a neat idea. I'd pay the extra 5 bucks and get the X1ER though, as LED light sources have a short range. The other thing is they are approx the color temperature of daylight, so things will look cold if you are shooting under artificial lighting conditions. The warm light version (X1W) has the lowest light output (which is a shame) and would be best for close up work.

The Sunpak Readilite is a 20Watt rechargable camera light, which can be found on Amazon for around $21.00 new. The down side is the 17 minutes battery life.

The 3W lights fron Best Buy run off your camera accessory shows power, and 3W is a tiny mount of light.

My suggestion is check out CameraBright website's store locater, and go and see in-store with your GS-65 how well the LED works with it.

I have ruled out the camerabright becuse of the battery issue. In my searches for other LED solutions I cam across THIS . I wonder how good that would work. the battery times look great. It wouldn't be too had to rig something up. For 50 bucks it mite be worth a try. the search continues.

CR2032 aren't actually that expensive. For example you can get these no-brand ones off Ebay for a few dollars.

I think this might be along the lines of what you are looking for : Kaiser digiNova LED Video Light
