Unreadable disks
Hi,
I've had a Hitachi DZ-MV350E PAL dvd camera for about 2 years now. Last summer I recorded some DVD-R's (I used Maxell and Panasonic DVD's). I put them away in their original cases, thinking I would get around to extracting them and editing the movies this winter.
Just now I tried to extract one disc, I put it in my DVD-camera, and got this error:
Error has occurred. Please reinsert disc.
I took out the disc, to check it out, and I found that there was a part of the disc (the size of the opening) that wasn't as shiny as the rest of the disc. I also noticed the same kind of stuff on the holder of the disc. Most of my discs now have that stuff on part of the disc.
I also have a few discs I stored in it's original case, but without the clear plastic casing, and they seem fine.
Has anyone else had these problems? Are my recordings salvagable?
