Optura 600 help

I am having problems importing video onto my computer. I cannot get anything off of the tape, but everything off of the memory card. Using windows movie maker I also cannot transfer my finished movie onto the mini dv tape. Is their a special cable I need to buy? All help is welcome, thanks!

The short answer is yes, go buy a firewire (1394) cable from RadioShack. You also need to make sure your computer has a firewire port. Most of the video editing packages -- at least on Linux -- use firewire to capture video from the camcorder. I would imagine the same is true in Windows. I use the usb connection to capture still images.
