Despite reading about this particular problem on this forum I went ahead and bought an old Optura 200MC from ebay for a good price. I have been experiencing the "remove cassette" warning only on high-speed rewind and occasionally on high-speed forwarding. I've read about a number of "solutions" to the problem including many about cleaning the heads and one interesting one about the problem going away after replacing the backup battery. My experience so far has been that the longer I run the camera and the warmer it gets, the less frequently the message appears until it all but goes away. I'm using Sony minidv tapes only. Anyone else have similar experience or other possible solutions to this really annoying problem?
