Unable to Firewire Capture PDX10 Audio in STEREO

This issue has circulated in forums before, but since most of the posts appear to be several years old I thought I might revisit this issue in hopes that someone has a solution for me.

I use Final Cut Pro HD (v4.5) on a Mac. When I capture footage from my PDX10 via Firewire the audio is always MONO, regardless if it's occupies Ch.1 or Ch.1+2 and regardless if the Audio Mode in the camcorder is set to 32k or to 48k. Grrrrr.

Previous threads have commented on this in the past,
i.e. Pechorin's, DVinfo:1, and DVinfo:2

One solution offered was using the A/V capture software ScenalyserLive which is supposedly able to import the Stereo audio off of the PDX10, but Scenalyser isn't compatible with Mac OSX. Grrrrr (again).

I wonder if there might be another comparable A/V capture software that is Mac compatible?

Or perhaps you know of another solution with regards to Final Cut Pro?

Any guidence would be greatly appreciated... I'm at wit's end :/
