I don't have a price for you either, but your post prompted me to make a new forum for these camcorders!

Not sure about that, but mine shipped out Friday and I am expecting it tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25! I'm pretty psyched about it. I was seriously considering the JVC Everio 77, but I'm kind of partial to Sony. And, I was considering the HDR-HC3, but I don't like continuing to have to deal with tapes, and I don't like the pain it is to edit HD right now. When HD editing becomes a little less time and resource consuming, and Sony comes out with a HDD version of the SR100, I may jump ship once again. I've actually been pretty happy with my IP-55. I like the form factor, and the pistol grip has been great. It has taken me a bit to want to jump ship on that one, but I really like dealing straight with Mpg2. Sometimes I just like to have video I can manipulate quickly without all the hassle.

When you get this, please write some kind of review. And could you also include a short, full quality clip. Like a few seconds or something?
Thanks, Luke

undefinedI bought my DCR-SR90 last week from http://www.bestcameras.co.uk/shop/a...der_719.htmlvat cost of £674 delivered with a free case.
Used this camcorder over last weekend at the zoo & it took excellent pictures for 3M pixel compared with my panasonic FZ30 8m pixel was just the same quality close up... it starts to break up a 10x zoom on pic's only. But you don't buy this camcorder to take photos with.....
The quality of the filming is excellent & the colour is life like. I am not a professional but the 1/3" CMOS chip is very good. If you use it for special occasions & for holiday clips this will be best camcorder for you.
THe editing software provide is very easy to use but remember it slightly basic ie can't add extra sound or I have not notice it yet.
Downloading from your camcorder to your computer does not take long about 5 minutes for 30GB.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Sorry but it will not allow me to upload... send me email to get a clip.... gregrobjones@Aol.com

Hiyah, yea I saw it on there the other day. My brother rang up and said there werent any in stock! going singapore next week, fingers crossed I find it out there. Apparently its selling in Dubai for 550 pounds. Found it really difficult trying to locate one in a store before I actually purchase it and managed to find it at sony centre in wolverhampton. Went to see it, its not bigger than I thought and initial thoughts are that it looks pretty good, briefly tested it there, and im impressed so far! if you can, pop a clip online, I know a few people are interested in the quality. ta!

Checked in the Sony website in Singapore - the price given is 1899 Singapore Dollars. I have asked a couple of my friends there to check the price of the model in Singapore and Dubai. Will update when I get the information sometime this weekend or early next week.
The link to the product in Sony website -

Hi Narj,
The price of SONY DCR-SR100 in Singapore is 1745 Singapore Dollars. My friend got this price at Mustafa shopping Centre. The price of JVC MG70 is around 1585 Sing Dollars.
I'll be ordering SONY DCR-SR100 through my friend this weekend. Have a nice trip to Singapore...
