I have an Optura 300 and I have just bought a 250 GB LG DVD/HD Recorder Model RH7926w. Now the recorder is a PAL recorder although it will read either format.

I interconnected the two devices using the DV connector. I can control the Camcorder from the DVD recorder, however I can not receive or view any image or recording through the LG recorder. My question relates to the DV format. If one device is NTSC does that mean that intrinsically the data that is delivered via the DV connection of the Camcorder will be NTSC data and hence the PAL DVD recorder won't be able to decode it. I thought DV was just data and hence should have been standard indifferent.

Really would like some help here. Not sure if my only mechanism for moving data off the Recorder is via computer
