Canon E300

I have an old Canon 8mm E300 camcorder (sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but seemed the best) where when you record tapes they playback in black and white. A tape recorded on a different camera plays very grainy.

I have tried a quick head clean but it didn't make any difference - what else could I try to fix the problem ?

Are you sure it's E300, not E310 or E350. if it is E310 or E350, there's more than 50 capacitors are in the camera and leaking. it's hard to replace them.

It says that its an E300 on the camera - what do the capacitors have to do with this problem - do I need a better head cleaner ?
