Vegas Training

I was reminded today of the free online Vegas 6 training videos that Sony has on their site. There's a dozen short videos that should be enough to get you doing some basic (and not so basic) editing with Vegas in a fairly short time.

http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/su...asp?prod=vegas5

Download the trial version of Vegas and work through these videos and you should have a pretty good idea if Vegas fits your needs.

Good luck.

Dennis

PS: There's also similar training videos for Sound Forge, Acid and more at this site: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/pr...ningsupport.asp.

Thanks for this, I filmed my 25th high school reunion, and decided to add music to it. From watching the sample videos it shoed me exactly what to do, and alot easier than what I was trying.

Cool. Glad it was helpful. There's nothing quite like having good tools and knowing how to use them fully and efficiently.

Gonna put your video on line so we can see it?

Good luck.

Question

Interesting you mentioned training. I was poking aroud trying to do the same thing. Found a video on Amazon called "Complete Training for Vegas 7" by omeone named Tim Duncan. It goes on to say "Learn to edit anything using Sony Vegas 7"

OK, no books out yet, so I bought it.. Open it up and there's 2 DVDs. One says "Complete Training for Vegas 6" DVD #2 says "Update Training for Vegas 7" !!! Vegas 6 does NOT appear on the cover. The number 6 does not appear on the cover.

Kind of bold marketing wouldn't anyone think?

There's not much difference between Vegas 6 and 7. In fact, if you buy a Vegas 5 training DVD, you will learn 90% of the features anyway.

Don't know. Did you try searching the site?

Looking over the table of contents it looks like most of the stuff would apply to Vegas Movie Studio with the exception of Track Motion. The first few chapters appear to be pretty basic UI stuff. Since the UI is the same on MS and Pro, I think you can pick up a lot from those.

Good luck.
