Elura 100 is not accepted by my computer

Hi guys,
I have an Elura 100 camcorder and I tried it to connect it to my computer today. I read the user manual before I tried. Computer is turned on then I pluged the cable that comes with the cam into the usb port and port at the cam. Then I turned on the cam, but as usually when you connect new usb devices, the computer did not realize that there is a new device connected. Not even after a restart. The software that comes with the cam is installed.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dan

You need to use Firewire.

You may want to read this thread: USB vs Firewire

If you order it online it will be cheaper but you can buy it from electronics stores such as bestbuy, circuitcity, radioshack etc... Your camcorder has a 4 pin jack so it comes down to your computer. If your computer has 4 pin jack you need a 4 pin to 4 pin cable if your computer has a 6 pin jack you need a 4 pin to 6 pin cable.
