Question S-VHS in and out on the TRV950?

Hey, I have a bunch of S-VHS material I want to edit

on my PC. Can I get it on to my HD by going IN to my

TRV's S-Video input and OUT its iLink (Firewire) ports?

It will work if your digital camcorder has a pass-through to convert the S-VHS input from analog to digital.

Thumbs up Thanks for Tips on S-Video and S-VHS

Yes, it appears I can go S-VHS camcorder OUT

to TRV950 S-Video IN

to TRV950 iLink OUT

to Capture Card IN

Sound right?

Thanks,

Smitty

Yes, it should work. I don't own a TRV950, but do have a Sony TRV17 with the pass-through feature. For the pass-through to work on mine, I have to go into the menu under VCR SET and change the
A/V - DV OUT from OFF TO ON. You may have to do this on yours to turn on the pass-through. When using the pass-through, the camera has to be in the VCR mode, not the camera mode.

Good luck with your transfers,
