Cool Test video of low light of ZR500 camcorder

Helo. Sorry English try not that good. I put everyones minds at rest about this camcorder. This here is video of low light in of everyday shooting. This here video is trip of to the City of Lights known Las Vegas.

Please tell if this is acceptable quality for cheap camcorder? Download video and view. My friends say it noise contains that is terrible on big screen TV. It fine I say. Who say now that this camcorder is poor of quality and cheap?

Video compresion is the mpeg2 using the Cinemacraft basic encoder two pass. It plays the 8000kb average and 9800kb maxiums bitrates encodes. This here one sample. I upload more sample later if want people.

Video size is of 52MB and 50 seconds and shot nighttime 9pm at outdoor show. It 16:9 and image stable on.

Hi
Many Thanks!!!
I think that the video quality is OK for a camcorder of this price range.
Perhaps you can also post a short dv-avi file from that cam?

Here original DV is of inside building in Las Vegas. Best to watch on television all of videos. DV interlaced, computer monitor not interlaced. TV interlaced so look better it does. On TV grain not as noticeable. 1

15 sec. DV-AVI original. Look at color of persons uniform. Very colorful and look good on TV. Stores in back with lighting look okay.

Thank you for the uploads

I just picked one of these up for my 9 year old daughter as a Christmas present (I am not letting her use my PVGS -400). Thanks for uploading the video clips and confirming my suspicions that this is a better option for her than the Sony D8 I was looking at. Price was literally a steal too 299.00 CDN

Sol,

In the recordings you posted, were you on the "Easy" mode or "Program" mode? Quality is pretty good. If you were in "P" mode, I would love to know your settings. Thanks.

Hey all,

This camcorder is on sale for $200 at Sears; very nice price. The only camera that can be considered superior at this price point is the Elura100, though at the price the zr500 was difficult to pass up.

On a side note, DO NOT shop at Best Buy even if you know exactly what you want. I dad a very poor experience with them (poor service and did not honor contract) and will not shop there again. Just a heads up.
