SDR-S150 working with 8GB SDHC card!

Hi
I have just read in a german form that a user has tried out the SDR-S150 with a 8GB SDHC class2 card from Transcend.
It works!!!
The SDR-S150 reports 1:53h recording time in XP mode if the card is empty.
Only small drawback is that the recording automatically stops if the MOD file has reached a size of 4GB, I assume this is due to the max. filesize of FAT32.

Thanks sektionschef. That's very good news. I guess using 16GB or 32GB SDHC card shouldn't be a problem either in the future.

However, it seems Panasonic haven't not prepared for >4GB SDHC card. It should automatically continue recording with the new MOD file once the file size reaches 4GB as HDD camcorders do.

That's excellent news, Sektionschef. How much does an 8GB SDHC card cost?

Oh, and the battery? Tell me that they have introduced a new battery that lasts 1:53? No?

I remember I paid $147 for 512MB Sandisk Ultra II CF in Dec 2003. Then in Sep 2004, I paid $100 for 1GB Sandisk Ultra II CF.

Now, Sandisk 4GB SDHC (class 2, with reader) price is around $135. I guess Q4 next year it should go below $60

Today I have visited that german formum again.
The user has mentioned that he has bought the 8GB card for 151Euros incl. shipping.
In addition I can read that he DID encounter a problem now:
After a he has started a new recording of about 40minutes where he made about 77 clips(about 2.9GB of data) the cam suddenly reported:

Stop recording
Now writing
and then he got
Check Card
Card may not be suitable

He can't understand this because the first time everything was working fine. He will reformat the card and do some more tests.
The thread can be seen here:
http://www.digitalvideoschnitt.de/f...erkarten-3.html
but its all in german language.
I will keep you updated.

Yes, but, even if the 8GB card works and you can get 1:53 or thereabouts, you'd need to change the battery after about 50 minutes anyway, wouldn't you?

Change the battery or change the card, it doesn't really make any difference, surely?
