VR mode in DC100 not working
I have just purchased Canon DC100A. I am trying couple of things on it.
I made a movie using -VR mode on DVD-RW. My desktop and laptop weren't able to recognize this DVD. Anybody has any idea, what is going on?
Any help would be great.
Regards,
Saul

Hi
Do you see any files or folders if you use windows explorer or do you get reported that no disk is inserted?

Is this still a problem?
In VR mode, your output is likely 'VRO' -- a new format which is still largely unsupported.
Canon neglected to tell buyers that their DVD camcorders were designed as just point-shoot-play, and they are using this (very poor) excuse to justify their lack of quality customer support in the way of providing conversion software for DVD camcorders.
Search for VRO conversion software (my advice is to stay away from AVS). Whatever you choose, be careful... there are usually restrictions on 'free to try' software (which are put there to get you to fork over your money for the license).
Also! Copy your VRO video to your harddrive (or whatever) and convert from there to ensure you don't lose anything. Try converting an unfinalized video -- if successful, you'll save $$ on DVD-R media.

MVW by Womble
I've been using the DC100 to take hundreds of high school track videos over the past year and I upload them to a website. I use MPEG Video Wizard by Womble. You can download it and try it out for free for 30 days. It's well worth it ($40ish?). I was negative on the DVD format at first because it wasn't designed for what I want to do with it, but now I love it.
